-->Beginner Bellydance: Tues @ 6:30 with Tracy
Complete introduction to bellydance, including rhythms, isolations, choreography, and basic technique drills. Learn to move gracefully using low impact muscle toning and gentle core strength training with this clean, family-friendly art. Teens welcome.
-->Layering/Combo Intermediate Bellydance: Tues 5:30 with DC
Expansion and honing of isolations, combinations, and layers with focus given to choreography introduction and transitions between moves. Use and blend all those skills with super-fun, simple choreographies and combos, while drilling more complex moves in a very relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere. Instructor invitation only. (Warning--This is not an easy class!)
--> KPOP Dance: Weds 5:30 with Maddy
Chimera is currently teaching teen/young adult KPOP dance. What is Kpop? It's Korean Hip Hop, and it's fun! This is an intense, high-energy group dance class requiring physical exertion and stamina. Anyone without physical fitness restrictions can participate. No dance experience necessary. Will train. People with fitness goals encouraged. Email for details.
*Fee: $40 per month, due the first class of the month (cash or check). $20 per additional monthly class. Private lessons $20 per hour. $15 drop-in fee (One time only). Email firstname.lastname@example.org.

* Students are never pressured to perform publicly. Dances occur in private classroom among students. Your comfort level is entirely respected. Really shy? Private lessons are available.
*Age is rarely an issue, from teen to maturity. Mature dancers make up the majority of attendees and skeptics are encouraged to come check it out ($15 drop in fee). Bring your dimples and flaws. There are no supermodels here--only normally shaped humans with cellulite, puckers, bubble bellies, lumps, bumps, and character. Do you have a handicap? Bring that too. We will show you how to dance around it. (Our previous drummer was a wheelchair-bound veteran before he passed). BTW -- We need drummers!
*Wear yoga-style or athletic exercise pants and a comfortable top. Tank-tops and spaghetti strap shirts work best but are not required. If you are more comfortable in a t-shirt then wear it! We typically dance barefoot, but grippy socks or dance shoes can be worn. New and used retail bellydance items are available in the classroom.
*Instructors: DC (high-energy, more intense classes with lots of laughter), Tracy (calm and precise with a more relaxed atmosphere), and Maddy (high-energy, super-fun). All three instructors use humor and encourage laughter and free-thinking in the classroom. All classes are non-competitive and welcoming to every gender, body style, age, and skill level.
